વરતાલ-૧૯: ભક્ત થાવાનું, અવિવેકનું

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૧૨/૪/૧૯૫૯, રાત્રે ૧૧-૦૦ વાગે જંબુસરમાં યોગીજી મહારાજ વચનામૃત વરતાલ ૧૯ ઉપર વાત કરતાં કહે, “સંત જ્યાં વિચરતા હોય, પણ ઓળખાણ ન થઈ તો ભગત કહેવાય નહીં. ઓળખાણ શું? રૂપિયાને ઓળખ્યા છે તો કોઈ ફેંકી દે છે? ખીસ્સામાં જ મૂકે. ભગવાનના એકાંતિક સંત, ધર્મ, જ્ઞાન, વૈરાગ્ય, ભક્તિ, નિર્દોષબુદ્ધિવાળા. તેની સાથે હેત થાય તો ભગત, નહીં તો મંદિરમાં બેસી રહે, માળા ફેરવે, પણ ભગત નહીં. મહારાજ ના પડે છે.

“રસ્તામાં સ્વામિનારાયણના સાધુ જાય તો સૌ કહે, ‘સ્વામિનારાયણના સાધુ જાય છે.’ પણ એ તત્ત્વે સહિત ઓળખાણ નથી. આ જ સાધુ અક્ષરધામમાં લઈ જાય એવા છે, મોક્ષના દાતા છે, કહે એમ કરવું, એ જ ઓળખાણ. બીજું કાંઈ નહીં. આપણે શ્રીજીમહારાજને ભગવાન માન્યા અને સ્વામીને અક્ષર માન્યા, તેથી પાંચ વર્તમાન પાળવા પડે. ભગવાનની મૂર્તિનું સુખ આવે છે ત્યારે જગતનું સુખ નીકળી જાય છે. દૂધપાક ખાધો હોય પછી બીજા સ્વાદ કૂચા. નરકના કીડા નરકમાં સુખ માને છે. આપણે કોઈ માનીએ છીએ?

“મનોરથ શું? અક્ષરધામમાં જવાના, નિર્દોષબુદ્ધિના, એકાંતિક ધર્મ સિદ્ધ કરવાના વગેરે મનોરથ સિદ્ધ કરે. વળી, થોડા વ્યવહારના પણ કરે, એમ ને?

“ચૌદ લોકનાં સુખ કાકવિષ્ટા તુલ્ય! અહાહા! એવું કાં વાંસો (વાંચો)? ભગવાનના ભક્ત એટલે પરોક્ષના ભક્તને? ના, મહારાજના ભક્ત. કાકવિષ્ટા એટલે વિષ્ટાની વિષ્ટા. આવું સમજ્યા છતાં મોહ કેમ નથી છૂટતો? જીવમાં કેમ ઊતરતું નથી? આવા બળના શબ્દો પડ્યા નથી.”

April 12, 1959, Jambusar. At 11pm, Yogiji Mahārāj, speaking on Vartāl 19, said, “If one cannot recognize the Sant, then he cannot be called a devotee. What does it mean to recognize the Sant? We have understood the importance of rupees, so will we throw them away? We put them in our pockets. The Ekāntik Sant of God has dharma, gnān, vairāgya, bhakti and is flawless. If one develops love for him, then one is a devotee; otherwise one may sit in the mandir and turn the mālā but one is still not a devotee. God says no.

“If Swāminārāyan sādhus are walking on the streets, people comment, ‘Swāminārāyan’s sādhus are walking past.’ However, they do not understand them fully (their association with God). This sādhu is capable of taking us to Akshardhām and is the granter of liberation. Doing as he says is definition of knowing him. Nothing else. We have understood Shriji Mahārāj to be God and Swāmi to be Akshar; therefore we must obey the five religious vows (panch-vartamān). When we experience the bliss of God’s murti, happiness of the world is removed. Once you have eaten dudkpāk, other tastes are insignificant. The worms in feces experience happiness of feces. Do we believe there is happiness (in feces)?

“What wishes?^† Of going to Akshardhām, of nirdosh-buddhi, of perfecting ekāntik dharma. And, one wishes for worldly affairs too, right?

“The pleasures of the 14 realms are insignificant, like the droppings of a crow. God’s devotees means devotees who believe in the non-manifest (past avatārs)? No, it means Mahārāj’s devotees. Crow droppings are feces made up of other feces. Having realized this, why are we still infatuated with happiness of this world? Why is this not consolidated in our jiva? Because we have never heard such courageous talks.”

^†Here, Yogiji Mahārāj’s explanation of ‘wishes’ (manorath) is from these words of Mahārāj in the Vachanāmrut: “... whatever a devotee of God wishes for comes true. ” Hence, a true devotee’s wishes are not worldly.

નિરૂપણ

તા. ૧૯/૬/૧૯૬૨, મુંબઈ. કથાપ્રસંગમાં યોગીજી મહારાજ કહે, “ભગવાનની વાર્તા કરીએ છીએ – એમ મહારાજે કહ્યું. તે સૌ પરોક્ષનું સમજ્યા, પણ ‘મહારાજ, તમારી વાત કરો’ એમ કોઈ ન બોલ્યા. સત્પુરુષ મળ્યા એ જ મોક્ષ અને એ જ અક્ષરધામની પ્રાપ્તિ. મોટાપુરુષના આશીર્વાદથી ને કૃપાથી અનુભવ થાય.”

June 19, 1962, Mumbai. During the discourse, Yogiji Mahārāj said, “Mahārāj said that we are talking about God. Everyone understood that Mahārāj was talking about the non-manifest God; but no-one said, ‘Mahārāj, talk about yourself.’ Having attained the Satpurush is itself liberation and the attainment of Akshardhām. Through the grace and blessings of the great Sant, we can experience this.”

નિરૂપણ

યોગીજી મહારાજે વરતાલનું ૧૯મું વચનામૃત વંચાવ્યું અને વાત કરી, “આમાં મહારાજે કહ્યું કે સાંભળો, ભગવાનની વાર્તા કરીએ છીએ. એટલી વાત કરી એટલે સૌ સાવધાન થઈ ગયા. ભગવાન તો પોતે હતા, પણ પરોક્ષપણે મહારાજે વાત કરી તેનું કારણ એ છે કે આ જીવને જેટલી પરોક્ષને વિષે પ્રતીતિ છે એટલી પ્રત્યક્ષ વિષે નથી. પણ ભગવાન ને ભગવાનના સંત તો જરૂર પૃથ્વી ઉપર વિચરતા જ હોય છે, એમ મહારાજે કહ્યું કે એ તો પરોક્ષ થાય એવા નથી, પણ ઓળખાય નહીં.”

After having Vachanāmrut Vartāl 19 read, Yogiji Mahārāj explained, “In this, Mahārāj said that all must listen as he is delivering a discourse about God. By merely saying this, all became alert. He himself was God, but Mahārāj spoke from the perspective of the non-manifest form of God, because the jiva does not have the same level of conviction for the manifest form as it has for the non-manifest form of God. However, God and his Sant are always present on this earth. Hence, Mahārāj explained that they are never non-manifest, but one is unable to recognize them.”
